It’s the day after THANKSGIVING…and that means, it’s OFFICIALLY time for CHRISTMAS here on the MoSop blog! I hope that all of you enjoyed our countdown to Thanksgiving “playlist” this past month. I was actually surprised at how many beautiful Thanksgiving/Blessing/Gratitude songs there really are out there. In the end, I couldn’t even feature all of my finds. But, I discovered many new tunes, new musicians, and new favorites for my personal playlist. Plus, I held my FIRST ever Giveaway! (congrats to our winners, announced yesterday)
I sure had a lot of fun, and I hope you did, too.
And now… it’s time for the season of lights, decorations, candles, gifts, tinsel, nativities, laughter, love and happily ever afters! 🙂 Yep, I’ve got that Johnny Mathis song “ringing through the rafters” on my mind. And, despite my insistence on celebrating one holiday at a time – which always makes me seem all ‘bah humbug’ until after Thanksgiving – I really do love Christmas! And I really, really, really REALLY LOVE Christmas music! There is a nice selection of Christmas music here on the blog already, but my goal is to fill it up with even MORE over the next 5 weeks!
Just for the record, Christmas songs do not have a healthy track record for those of us named Holly. Our namesake is continually getting hauled out, hung up, borne, pricked and decked. Seriously? Ouch! Holly is a beautiful symbol of Christmas! We really deserve a kinder, gentler song written all about us.
Just saying. So, I’m calling all composers! Holly needs a new song! You write it. I’ll sing it. ❤ Thank you. End of rant.
Please let me know your favorite Christmas song(s) in the comments below, and be sure to let me know what you would like to see featured here on the blog between now and December 25! 🙂
OK, here we go! Let’s haul me out and get this party started! – MoSop aka Holly, who needs a new song
My favorite is anything from Handel’s Messiah, particularly O Thou That Telleth Good Tidings To Zion, because that’s my solo… 🙂

Definitely some of my favorites! Christmas wouldn’t be complete without Handel 🙂

Just saw David Archuleta sing Do You Hear What I Hear from the Christmas Concert last night. It’s on youtube. That was an amazing arrangement and, of course, sung to perfection by the young Mr. Archuleta. It is now my official favorite Christmas song.
