Between A Rock And A Lion

And… guess what? I spoke too soon. After 7 days of being in love with our house, those ‘perfect buyers’ are leaving us at the altar. Yep. I’m trying not to be despondent, but my heart is feeling heavy.

  • “everything is going to work out,”
  • “these must not have been the ‘right family’,”
  • “the Lord has a different plan in mind…”

Not gonna lie, those sentiments aren’t helping me feel better right now. After all we have done, and all our diligence to provide such a good solid house, in such a good, solid amazing desirable neighborhood, for such a good price – still rejected. [Although, we actually think the truth might be they couldn’t qualify].

I’ll get over it. But, life still isn’t fair. 😦

So, as I was sitting here feeling sorry for myself, my beautiful and talented friend Valaura Arnold released her newest music video today – an original song called “Dear Lord” [by the way, she’s another MoSop like me, who also sings in the MoTab]. 🙂

Her song about trusting in the Lord and remembering His mighty miracles [when you don’t feel like He’s hearing you] seemed like a personal message. It cheered me up and made me smile. So, I had to share it with you, in case you need a little musical encouragement today, too.

My favorite line:

“Well you said ‘have faith’ and Lord I’m a tryin’,

but I’m stuck between a Rock and a Lion!”

Daniel in the Lions Den, mezzotint by J. B. Pratt, with hand colouring, pub. by Thomas Agnew and Sons, 1892

Enjoy! – MoSop

  1. OH, NO! Sorry for the let-down. Would “rescue” you if we weren’t entrenched in 53 years of living and saving in our home! “This too will pass”. Love the illustration that fully describe your feelings! joann

  2. There have been so many times in my life when I’ve been disappointed. I understand how you feel. But, I know God is faithful and he will send the right buyer for your house. I heard a really good sermon this evening about Job. When Job was going through all of his trials, he could only see what was happening to him, but he couldn’t see what was happening in Heaven. We’re all in that boat. We can’t see why things are happening as they are, but God is still in control, and I’m sure the results will be in your favor.

Remember, Daniel was in the lions den, but God rescued Daniel, and if he did it for Daniel, He’ll do it for you.

    Love you, Lynne
