Lead Kindly Light – Vocal Point

Daughter A’s favorite hymn is “Lead Kindly Light”. Today I came across a recording by the Brigham Young University men’s A’capella group Vocal Point. It is one of the most beautiful arrangements we have heard. So peace-filled. So comforting. Such perfect timing. I had to share it!

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27.)

The Apostle Paul admonished:

“Let your requests be made known unto God.

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7) 

What a glorious promise! Peace is that which we seek, that for which we yearn.

We were not placed on this earth to walk alone. What an amazing source of power, of strength, and of comfort is available to each of us. He who knows us better than we know ourselves, He who sees the larger picture and who knows the end from the beginning, has assured us that He will be there for us to provide help if we but ask. We have the promise: “Pray always, and be believing, and all things shall work together for your good.” (D&C 90:24)
