Still, Still, Still – A Lullaby For The Christ Child

The Christmas carol “Still, Still, Still” is a beloved Austrian folk-song by an anonymous author. This song is written as a lullaby for the newborn Christ child. It describes the peace of the infant Jesus and his mother Mary as the baby is sung to sleep.

There are 6 original verses in German. However, there have been many different English translations and multiple variations of text. Maestro Mack Wilberg composed a gorgeous, tender arrangement of this song for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square which I truly love to perform. The lyrics for this version are printed below.
