Here is a random list of things about me that you probably never wanted to know, as encouraged by my new young friend over at InspiredByABook – because since I read her Q&A, she says it’s now my turn
(and also because I’m declaring it “Fun Friday” at the blog – and this was fun).
1: What are you wearing? Clothes
(Okay, okay, that was Smart-Aleck).
I’m wearing a black top paired with a black & white striped pencil skirt. I’m wearing black flats, but I wish I was wearing these:
Or these!
I’m obviously channeling my inner Zebra today.
2: Ever been in love? Oh yes, many times! But for the past 25+ years my heart has belonged to my One True Love, Mr. Mo.
3: Ever had a terrible breakup? Oh yes, many times! Every break-up until my One True Love always felt like The End of All Joy. But, in hindsight, I’m thankful for each of those “endings”, which were actually all wonderful lessons helping prepare me for the great beginning of my “happily-ever-after” with Mr. Mo.
4: How tall are you? 5′ 3″ (on my tippy toes…)
5: How much do you weigh? No Comment.
6: Any tattoos? Nope
7: Any piercings? Yep, only 1 hole in each ear (like a good Mormon girl) – although, I admit I once put a second piercing in just one ear – back when that was considered a “cool thing”. I can’t even remember which ear it was now (right? left?). The hole closed long ago (after it wasn’t considered a “cool thing” anymore)
8: OTP? [OK. I totally didn’t know what “OTP” meant. Turns out to be urban slang for “One True Pairing: to describe two characters that are meant to be together”] Me an Mr. Mo, of course! 🙂
9: Favorite show(s)? Pushing Daisies, Monk, & Merlin All cancelled. 😥 This is probably why I never watch TV anymore
10: Favorite band? The Piano Guys (I’m declaring them a “band”)
I also loved Chicago, SuperTramp, The Beetles and Tears For Fears – ‘back in my day’. And, of course my favorite Choir group is the MoTab 😉
11: Something you miss? Roller skating disco birthday parties. And, truth be told, I also miss having perky boobs. (well, it’s true) TMI.
12: Favorite song?
Seriously? I’m a musician! Choosing ONE song would be like choosing which child I love best! Here is one favorite song that I can’t live without (but I have hundreds more)
13: How old are you? 48 (But my “true age” is 25)
14: Zodiac sign? Capricorn
15: Quality you look for in a partner? Love of God & Gentleness
16: Favorite Quote?
“Life is to be enjoyed, not endured.” – Gordon B. Hinckley
17: Favorite actor/actress? Ralph Fiennes / Meryl Streep
18: Favorite color? Pink, or anything “Shades of Red” (hmmm … good book title?) 19: Loud music or soft? Medium Rare
Oh wait, that’s how I like my steak. Ones volume of music would definitely depend on ones mood. Wouldn’t you say?
20: Where do you go when you’re sad? Here.

21: How long does it take you to shower? 10 minutes (unless I’m shaving my legs, then all bets are off)
22: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? 15 minutes (see disclaimer #21)
23: Ever been in a physical fight?
Well, actually yes. I pulled a girl’s hair once very hard, and then she threw her hair brush at me with a killer blow (thankfully, she missed and it embedded into the wall instead of my face). If you thought this happened between a pair of 2-year-olds, you would be wrong. We were both 22 at the time. *hangs head in shame*
24: Turn on? A clean, smooth shaven man
25: Turn off? Beards and/or Body Odor. Both = Run away!
26: The reason I made this blog? To share beautiful music, happiness, and the gospel of Jesus Christ (which all go hand-in-hand)
27: Fears?
- Drowning
- Losing my voice forever (i.e. having it ripped out of me, like Ariel’s)
- A bug crawling into my ear and chewing on my brain
- Having to change flights in Chicago O’hare Airport
- Running out of toilet paper
I could go on…
28: Last thing that made you cry? This video
29: Last time you said you loved someone? 10 minutes ago to my 2 AMAZING daughters
30: Meaning behind your blog Name? I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (a “Mormon”), and I sing all the high notes (a “Soprano”)
31: Last book you read? Does this question mean #1 “a page or line from the book” or #2. “actually completed the book?” Am I over-thinking this question?
#1. = Book of Mormon (1 Nephi chapter 16) #2. = World War Z – it took me forever to finish this book – but I really enjoyed it. This is incredibly creative writing! (I hear the book is much better than the movie, but now that I have read the book I might watch it)
32: The book you’re currently reading? I’m actually always reading more than one at a time. Here’s my current “read-list”
- Scripture study: The Book of Mormon (1 Nephi) & The Bible (Topic of Parables)
- Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers – by Mary Roach
- Ultralight Backpacking Tips – by Mike Clelland!
- How to travel the world on $50 A Day – by Matt Kepnes
- The Alchemist – by Paulo Coelho
33: Last show you watched? Walking The Camino: 6 Ways To Santiago – (fab documentary!)
34: Last person you talked to? My husband, Mr. Mo
35: The relationship between you and the person you last texted? My boss
36: Favorite food? Fresh grilled Tilapia with Mangos… or, Steak (medium rare)
37: Place you want to visit? Spain
38: Last place you visited? Northern California
39: Do you have a crush? I can’t lie, my heart skips a beat for Dieter F. Uchtdorf

40. *Missing Question* – So, I’ll make up my own: “What is your favorite form of exercise?” Running, and I also love Hiking in the mountains
41: Last time you were insulted? I don’t get easily insulted. But, I think yesterday someone [in]advertently tried to shame me for having ‘put on a few pounds lately’. *facepalm*
42: Favorite flavor of sweet? Chocolate Caramel
43: What instruments do you play? Piano (“I get by”) and the Recorder (“excellent” – when I was in 6th grade)
44: Favorite piece of jewelry? My wedding ring
45: Last sport you played? Officially it was Sand Volleyball (In Reality: I was playing “dodge the ball at all costs and please let someone else hit it before it hits me”)
46: Last song you sang? “Let It Go” from Frozen …. Noooooooo!!!

47: Favorite chat up line?
I think this question is the equivalent of the American “pick up line”. Back in my single days, I always stuck with the boring but safe “Hi, my name is Holly! What’s your name?”
48: Have you ever used it? See #47
49: Last time you hung out with anyone?
Last night. If attending a 2 1/2 hour choir rehearsal with 500 of my talented ‘besties’ counts as “hanging out”.
50: Who should answer these questions next? Everyone who reads them! And if you read this whole list, you get a gold star. OK, It’s your turn now! What’s at least 1 thing from this list about you that I don’t know? – MoSop
Love this blog. The thing you don’t know about me is – I agree with your Sexiest LDS Apostle Alive. He gets my vote even if it was Sexiest Man Alive. Of course, I am probably old enough to be his mother (lol). My oldest son will be 49 in June. I told him he passed me when he turned 40. I’m 39 and holding, just like Jack Benny. Oops, that shows my age for sure.
Also the thing you said about perky boobs, it’s just the start. It’s all down hill from there. TMI for sure. I sometimes wonder if I could walk on my hands all the time, would it reverse the effect that gravity has had on my body. I won’t live long enough to find out.
I love that you’re so open with your answers, and I really like your sense of humor. See you Sunday on my computer (BYU.com).
Love you, Lynne

Lynne – you crack me up! I totally love the idea of walking on our hands to reverse the “gravitational pull”! haha 😉 I’m way too uncordinated to try. Probably would end up with a concussion or neck brace…. But, it would sure make a good story!

My 46 year old son was in the National Cross Fit Finals in CA this past July in the 45-49 age group. He came in 10th over all for the nation, and I think a few foreign countries, too. One of the things they had to do was walk on their hands. He won that one “hands down”, pardon the pun. He walked 150 yards on his hands. I couldn’t take one step on my hands if I had to. I’m sure the weight of my body would shatter the bones in my arms. UGH! What a thought. But, I have 3 very athletic sons, and, believe it or not, I was once an athlete myself. I ran track, played golf, and played on the girls tennis team in college. Aah, the good old days. Now, you know something else about me that you didn’t know before.
