Today we bid a final earthly farewell to our president and prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley. His funeral service was attended by nearly 21,000 in the Conference Center on Temple Square, and viewed by television and satellite to a world-wide audience of millions. The media have often fondly called him a “man for all seasons” and the “people’s prophet”. The funeral service was simple and profoundly beautiful. The words spoken were poignant and sweet, and the music touched our souls.
The Funeral Service program read as follows:

Conducting: President Thomas S. Monson
Opening Hymn: “My Redeemer Lives,” Mormon Tabernacle Choir
Invocation: Clark B. Hinckley
Speaker: Virginia H. Pearce
Hymn: “Crossing the Bar,” Mormon Tabernacle Choir

It has been a week of great spiritual importance for me personally. I have been deeply touched by this great man and his selfless service. I had an opportunity to attend the viewing held in The Hall of The Prophets located in the Conference Center. Although the spirit of this great man had departed his mortal body, the power of his presense lives on. The Holy Spirit was intensely felt in that room bearing witness that here was a true prophet of God – and that “All is well”. I will forever be grateful for this experience – and many others that have strengthened my belief in our Savior Jesus Christ and His great work upon this earth “To bring to pass the immortality and eternal Life of man”
Goodbye, our President Hinckley, our prophet dear… “God be with you, Until we meet again”
