Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe that the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the divine priesthood authority to act in His name was lost from the earth through an apostacy, which then needed to be restored. This Restoration happened in 1820 through a latter-day prophet chosen by Jesus Christ, named Joseph Smith.

A little off topic, but I just had to tell you. We’re spending our vacation in Utah (yes, we’re that lame), and while we were visiting Temple Square, I picked up the new CD “Come, Thou Fount of Ev’ry Blessing” at the Distribution Center. I already knew that I loved Mack Wilberg’s arrangement of the title track, but I hit the penultimate track, and WOW! It’s that great anthem of the repentant sinner, “Amazing Grace,” and it literally brought me to tears. Thank you again for your service in the Choir. You and your fellow singers continue to lift me up.
