This has been a hard week, with a lot of tragedy in the news. I don’t know about you, but my soul has felt pretty battered. Perhaps that’s what made hearing a beautiful hymn played by a gifted artist on a magical flute all the more sweeter today. My soul was touched. My hope was renewed. And, my faith and confidence in the world was restored.
No matter how hard life gets, Our Father in Heaven knows and loves us. He gave us a beautiful world which testifies to us each day that He lives and we are in His hands. Creating this video has offered solace to me, and I hope that it will do likewise for you.

Elizabeth Vélez Urie is a professional inspirational flutist, and received a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from Brigham Young University. She has studied in Europe, and performed both nationally and internationally. Last fall, she released her first self-produced album entitled “Amazing Grace“.
Elizabeth’s debut album is filled with beautiful new arrangements of favorite hymns and other inspirational music. From the tranquility of “Going Home” (alto flute) to the powerful duet, “Be Still, My Soul,” with renowned violinist Jenny Oaks Baker, it is sure to inspire the soul and comfort the heart. A feature article about Elizabeth can be found at MormonTimes, and a television interview is available on YouTube. Elizabeth currently resides in the Los Angeles area with her husband, Marcus.
