Celebrating Today

Only four more days until the 184th Semiannual General Conference of the Church! In preparation, here’s a collection of inspirational quotes and a song that celebrates the joy of Today!

There is great wisdom in living “in the moment” and embracing the day that we are given right now to breathe, grow, learn, choose, and love. The Psalmist wrote:

“This is the day the Lord has made; let us Rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24

How can we rejoice and be glad today?

Here are some ideas:

Attitude of Gratitude

“We can lift ourselves, and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts and attitude of gratitude.” – Thomas S. Monson

Thanksgiving Daily

Those who live in thanksgiving daily…are usually among the world’s happiest people. And they make others happy as well” – Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley, Live In Thanksgiving Daily, 2001

Believe in your future

“Today you do not know what a remarkable future is before you!” – M. Russell Ballard, Be Still and Know That I Am God

Look a little deeper

“Stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life we ‘accetuate the positive’. I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good.” – Gordon B. Hinckley

Celebrate our Opportunities

“This is a wonderful time to be living here on earth. Our opportunities are limitless!” – Pres. Thomas S. Monson

General Conference will be broadcast LIVE and tape delayed from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, Saturday and Sunday, October 4 and 5, 2014. Check out a list of options to see Conference HERE.

  1. I’ve been having a good day today. Feeling very positive all day. Love the quotes. Don’t know if you’ve heard this yet. David Archuleta has a new song out. It will be featured in the new movie Meet the Mormons, due out on Oct. 10th. It’s called Glorious. It’s on youtube, and on the movie’s website you can download it free. Very positive song.

    I think you’ll like it.

    I positively love you, Lynne

    1. Thanks for sharing that, Lynne! I knew that David had released a new song, but I didn’t know the details yet. it’s a beautiful song. I can’t wait to see the movie!
