The Thankfulness Song [Veggie Tales] – Jeremy Morada

Today’s song is The Thankfulness Song from the Veggie Tales story of Madame Blueberry. I admit freely I love the Veggie Tales cartoons. They are funny and sweet, enjoyable for all ages, and always combine interesting characters and catchy music to illustrate a moral tale with a gentle biblical theme. Madame Blueberry lives in a comfy little tree-house in the woods. She is content and happy with her life until one day a “Stuff Mart” is built up the road. Madame Blueberry is lured by the promise of “free stuff” (purchased on credit) that is guaranteed to make her “much happier”. Soon she becomes discontent with her life and consumed with buying more and more stuff in a quest to find more and more happiness. Ironically, the more “stuff” she accumulates, the more unhappy she becomes. Unfortunately, one day her little home gets so filled with stuff it collapses and in a dramatic moment she loses everything! As she sits in the park crying she meets a homeless family who has very little stuff, but are truly content and happy. They share their last piece of apple pie with Madame Blueberry, and teach her the simple but profound lesson that “A thankful heart is a happy heart”.
